Jurassic World Sequel In The Works

Written by Huzaifa Khan on July 23, 2015.

Now that it’s officially the third highest grossing movie of all time, having passed The Avengers, the fact that Jurassic World will be getting sequels is not a surprise. Hell, everyone assumed as much going in, and that was before it made more than $1.5 billion. But now we’re starting to get some details, including when we’ll see Jurassic World 2/Jurassic Park 5 and who is coming back for a few more rounds with the dinosaurs.

The Wrap reports that both of the two primary stars of Jurassic World, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, will reunite for the sequel, which is now scheduled to be released on June 22, 2018. Steven Spielberg, who, of course, fathered the franchise back in 1993, will return in his new role as producer, as will Frank Marshall. However, there is no news on whether Jimmy Buffett will have another cameo this time around. We’ll have to wait and see on that front.

To be fair, none of this should be a huge surprise. Not to ruin anything for the five of you who haven’t seen it, but they both survive until the end. Not to mention that after two-plus hours of sexually charged banter and almost being devoured by rampaging dinos, they finally form a love connection of their very own. Even before the movie was released, Pratt was talking about how he had already signed on for more movies—this was, after all, designed to relaunch the franchise, not just as a one off.

And with the massive success, which exceeded even the loftiest expectations, the prime summer release spot is also what we anticipated. Now, however, we get to watch the mad scramble as studios rearrange their release slate so their movies are nowhere near this one. That’s always fun.

There’s no word on a director at this point, though we do know it won’t be Colin Trevorrow. He has said that now that he has this blockbuster under his belt, he wants to make more original movies. And why not? Right now he has the clout to get any dream project he wants off the ground, and if there is any credence to those Star Wars: Episode IX rumors, he may very well be busy in a galaxy far, far away.

At this juncture we don’t know anything about plot of Jurassic World 2. The park is likely done, you don’t come back from a disaster like this, but there is the military angle to contend with. BD Wong’s character, Dr. Henry Wu, is also out and about, which is something that will need to be dealt with. Once upon a time before the release, there were rumors that Omar Sy’s character, Barry, who works with Chris Pratt’s Owen training Velociraptors, may have a more prominent role in the sequels, so that is also an element that could factor in.

Aladdin Prequel "Genies" In The Works

Written by John Smith on August 12, 2012.
As if Disney wasn't already getting ahead of their live-action adaptation game, from comic book adaptations like Avengers: Age of Ultron, and more children-based ones such as Cinderella and Malificent, it seems they may have one more surprise up their sleeve. A live-action prequel to Disney's 1992 animated musical film Aladdin is in the works at the Mouse House, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The title of the prequels is Genies. As you can tell, it will "focus on the realm of the Genies and reveal how Aladdin's Genie ended up enslaved in the lamp." Disney hopes the prequel is well received so they can then develop a live-action Aladdin movie.
The screenwriting team of Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Freddy vs. Jason, O’Lucky Day) are penning the script for Disney's Genies.
The 1992 film, which is based on a centuries-old Arabic folk tale, told the tale of a petty thief named Aladdin that comes into possession of a magical lamp. When he rubs it a Genie (voiced by Robin Williams) appears and offers to grant him three wishes.
No word yet on a release date, but this movie is said to be a "set-up" of sorts, and if successful, would garner work on another sequel-esque property that would result in a live-action adaptation of the 1992 hit Aladdin itself.

Rocky Spinoff "Creed" Gets First Trailer

Written by Huzaifa Khan on July 1, 2015.
While most of us are still anxiously awaiting July's boxing spectacle Southpaw to drop in theaters, it looks like Warner Bros. has given the competition a run for their money. Just today, the studio released the first trailer for Creed, the Michael B. Jordan-starring sequel/spinoff to the Rocky franchise.

Check out the trailer below as well as a quick review!

So from the looks of the trailer, it's clear that this isn't just a Rocky sequel with a new front man. Yes, while the previous movies clearly have an influence on the setting, tone, and plot of this movie, it's admirable that Creed is choosing to define itself in its own way today, especially considering the incredible time gap one would have to acknowledge between the Rocky films and this one itself.

One thing I absolutely cannot stop raving about is the beat, tempo, and music of this trailer. The timing on the change of the scenes, and the pacing of the scenes in general, created hype I didn't even know I could have in a 2-minute trailer like this.

Quick last thing before I wrap this up. In a world today where every trailer spoils the movie right before, it's awesome really, to see one that simply teases the audience of what's to come. I mean even the giant gimmick ready feature of Rocky Balboa himself was used only about twice or so in this entire trailer, once again proving how independent and prosperous this movie intends on being.

In addition to Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, Creed also stars Graham McTavish, Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad. Warner Bros. has penciled it in to be released the weekend of Thanksgiving, which makes one wonder if it is just trying to avoid the box office monster that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, or if there's some Oscar potential in the project. We'll have to wait and find out.

Emma Stone On Why She Passed On "Ghostbusters"

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 19, 2015.
From the very moment word came out that Sony wanted to make a female-led Ghostbusters reboot, Emma Stone's name was suggested more than most. Sony and director Paul Feig also thought Stone would make a good Ghostbuster and in a recent interview the actress reveals that she passed on it and shares why.

"The script was really funny,” Stone told The Wall Street Journal. “It just didn’t feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment — it’s a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.”
Stone understands the commitments franchises can demand of their actors as she was a part of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise.
Paul Feig's Ghostbusters is due in theaters July 22, 2016. The cast includes: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

Passengers - Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Pratt's Sci-Fi Scores Greenlight

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015
These days, casting's become more like a complicated drug trade than anything else, so it's an honest to relief to say that the casting drama behind the new sci-fi flick Passengers has finally been resolved, check out the details after the jump!

Now, for those of you who weren't aware of the drama behind-the-scenes of Sony's project, let's catch you up to speed for a second. It was reported that, while both Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Pratt had been tapped to star in the film, both had laid out much higher offers for salaries, which the studio and acting managers were at odds with for quite a while.
But it looks like that is all water under the bridge at this point, as Sony Pictures’ new motion picture chairman Tom Rothman has greenlighted Passengers, a big-budget romantic sci-fi drama starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt with Oscar nominee Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) set to direct. And thanks to a deal that tied his remuneration to the success of Jurassic World, which broke box-office records with a $524.1 million global opening over the June 12 weekend, Pratt’s fee has jumped from $10 million to $12 million.
Lawrence, on the other hand, an Oscar winner and considered a top star, is getting an exceptional $20 million against 30 percent of the profit after the movie breaks even, say sources.
Considering that this acting team-up will definitely bring in some decent profit, it's worth noting that the actresses' pay is going to end up being more than double of what the primary lead Chris Pratt is being paid.
Passengers is set to begin filming in September so Sony has been under pressure to act. Sources say Rothman wrestled with whether to greenlight it, put it in turnaround or place it with Jeff Robinov’s nascent Studio 8, which is partly owned by Sony and will distribute its films through the studio but has outside financial backing.
The film bounced from place to place before landing at Sony Pictures. At one time, when it was a Weinstein Co. project with Keanu Reeves and Reese Witherspoon, it was budgeted at a modest $35 million. Recently, Rachel McAdams was attached to the project. Ironically, for a time the project was in negotiations for a deal at Warner Bros., where Robinov had been chairman of the film studio — with the budget capped at $65 million.

The Odds of Fan Favourite Becoming Next James Bond

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015.

Let's be real for a second; Daniel Craig can't be James Bond forever. He has already headlined the franchise in three films, with a fourth, Spectre, on the way. With the actor and producers teasing that he could potentially retire his impeccably tailored suit any day now, fans are placing bets as to who will take his place when the job is done. According to some new buzz, Damien Lewis has emerged as a likely contender.

This update doesn’t come from any intrepid journalist, anything official from the studio, or even an interview response taken out of context and blown out of proportion. This comes from…bookmakers in the U.K. According to The Hollywood Reporter, William Hill revealed that it slashed its odds of the Homeland star becoming the next James Bond by more than 75%, from 25/1 to 3/1. This propels Lewis ahead of Idris Elba (5/2), Tom Hardy (4/1), Henry Cavill (5/1), and Michael Fassbender (7/1). While we may not know the intricacies or influences of U.K. bookmakers, this doesn’t seem to be anything more than a friendly wager among friends
We still have a ways before we know if Craig will drop out of the franchise. Spectre is cutting it close with production for a November release. 007 will face someone from his past, as well as the villainous organization from the canon. Depending what the writers cook up next, Craig could still return for Bond 25, considering the films picked up again in popularity with Skyfall
As we await for confirmation and more on the upcoming Bond movies, keep it here at the one stop hub for all things secretive; KhanFlix.

Pitch Perfect 3 Gets Huge Update

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015.
In case any of you "pitches" out there felt like you were missing a dose of your favourite collegiate acapella group, well worry no more, more is on the way. Pitch Perfect 3 just got a massive update, including release date, cast confirmations, and much more, check it out after the jump below.

Pitch Perfect 3, according to Universal Pictures, will be the latest installment in the trilogy, and is set for a July 21st, 2017 release date. Star and actress Anna Kendrick took to her personal Instagram account to post the reaction to this news, which you can view at your own disclosure.
According to Variety, Rebel Wilson's breakout favorite Fat Amy is also set to appear in the follow-up, along with returning producers Paul Brooks, Max Handleman and Elizabeth Banks. Elizabeth also directed May's runaway hit sequel Pitch Perfect 2 in addition to producing and co-starring in both Pitch Perfect movies.
As previously reported on KhanFlix, talks of a trilogy capper ignited last week when Universal entered negotiations with screenwriter Kay Cannon, who penned the first two films. It's unclear how "Pitch Perfect 3" will manage to wrangle current and former Bellas back into harmony, but with Pitch Perfect 2 having already grossed more than $260 million worldwide it's likely fans are already singing the tune of another installment.

Malificent Sequel Moving Forward

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015.
I'm pretty sure we all remember 2014's surprise hit Malificent, which ended up bringing in an astonishing $750 million at the worldwide box office. So it's no surprise that the famous Mouse House wants to bring back the wicked anti-villain for another run around.

Deadline is reporting that Disney has hired Linda Woolverton to pen the script for a Maleficent sequel. They added, "I’m told the studio is keeping Jolie in the loop and that the sequel will be written for her to reprise."
But it's worth noting that, while all may be good in the House of Mouse, they're still not confirming one huge tool that had a massive hand in making the movie the success that it was; Angelina Jolie.
The actress simply doesn't do sequels. She has turned down lucrative offers in the past to appear in sequels to Wanted and Salt, but Disney is letting that stop them. The 2014 film grossed over $750M at the worldwide box office and it looks like Disney wants to see if they can summon some more magic out of Jolie's not-so-villainous role.
When asked if she'd make an exception to this role, Jolie said "It's kind of hard to top her. She was pretty fun. Maybe I'll get the chance to play her again," Jolie said during a press conference for the film in China last June.
Joe Roth will be back as the film’s producer, but as of right now nobody knows if Robert Stromberg will come back to direct the sequel

Christian Bale, Oscar Isaac To Star In Period Piece

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015.
Christian Bale, with co-star Oscar Isaac, will star as two thirds of a tragic love triangle in a period film titled The Promise, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed, setting up two heavyweight actors in a film from director Terry George (Hotel Rwanda).

As first reported by The Wrap, Bale (American Hustle) has been tapped to play Chris, an American reporter residing in the crumbling Ottoman Empire, who falls in love with the same woman adored by a Middle Eastern medical student played by Isaac (A Most Violent Year).

The film—co-written by Oscar-winner George and Memoirs of a Geisha scribe Robin Swicord—will be set during the decline of the Ottoman Empire, which collapsed in 1922 shortly after its defeat in World War I, which witnessed the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

No release date has been set for the film, which is set to begin production this fall in Southern Europe, reports The Wrap. For all your promised needs, keep it here at KhanFlix.

Kung Fu Panda 3's New Trailer Is Here

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015
The first Kung Fu Panda 3 trailer has arrived, and even though it's in Chinese, the footage is still awe-inspiring. Even better, though, is that the villain is finally revealed! Po, Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper and Crane are up against...one mean-looking minotaur. Watch the trailer below.

Not much is known about this mysterious creature shrouded in green light, but he looks like the biggest and most powerful threat these warriors have ever faced. He wields what appears to be blades attached to the ends of chains, like Kratos in God of War, and he's even strong enough to shot put a massive stone statue. And with his glowing eyes, he certainly seems supernatural.
DreamWorks Animation moved the released date around for this next sequel a couple times. The latest move pushed it out of 2015, where it would've competed with Star Wars: The Force Awakens for box-office dominance, into 2016. That said, we know there's even more of a personal component on top of everything that's going on. Po discovers that there are a lot more pandas like him than he thought in the world. In addition to the returning voice talent of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen and Lucy Liu, there's also Rebel Wilson voicing a panda named Mei Mei, who's super into ribbon dancing.
Kung Fu Panda 3 hits theaters on January 29, 2016.

The Stanford Prison Experiment Trailer Released, And It's Amazing

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 15, 2015.
Based on a real-life psychological test run in the 1970s that went horrifically awry, The Stanford Prison Experiment caused a stir at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. With a release date on the way, the movie dropped its first trailer that illustrates we’re in for one of the best, most harrowing films of the year.

The story is one of the most notorious events in academic history. In 1971, Stanford psychology professor Dr. Philip Zimbardo embarked on an experiment to study the effect of becoming either a guard or a prisoner, backed by funding from the military. He and his team of graduate students took 24 male undergrads and put them in the role of either a guard or an inmate in a simulate prison scenario, and sat back to see how things would unfold. What they saw as the power dynamics of the various institutionalized roles bubbled to the surface went far beyond their expectations. All of which you see dramatized in this trailer as the guards start to give into their most base instincts
The Stanford Prison Experiment put together an impressive cast. Fronted by Billy Crudup as Dr. Zimbardo, the younger component includes Michael Angarano (The Knick), Ezra Miller (who will play the Flash in DC’s cinematic superhero universe), Tye Sheridan (the new Cyclops of X-Men: Apocalypse), Thomas Mann (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), and many more. Olivia Thirlby (Dredd) also plays Zimbardo’s wife, who has her own concerns with this entire set up.
The Stanford Prison Experiment gets a limited theatrical run starting on July 17, and it hits video on demand the following week, on July 24.

Disney has released a new clip, titled "5-second rule", for their upcoming Pixar animated film Inside Out. Check it out after the jump!

In this clip, Riley is outside munching on some grapes when she tosses one into the air hoping that it will find its way into her mouth. She misses and the delicious grape bounces off her face and goes rolling away onto the ground. Riley hustles over to it, with Joy (Amy Poehler) in the driver's chair, and scoops up the grape within the "5-second rule." See how Disgust (Mindy Kaling) reacts to this rule.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions — Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

New Terminator: Genysis TV Spots

Written by John Smith on August 12, 2012.

Now that Jurassic World's been released, it's time to look forward to the next summer blockbuster, that being Terminator: Genysis, the latest installment in the Terminator franchise. Recently 3 new 30-second spots were released on TV, and as such, KhanFlix brings you them instantaneously. Check them out after the poster below!

Seeing these TV spots, it's clear to see that no expense was spared in terms of visual effects, with explosions civilian destruction, and state-of-the-art robots at every scene. The incorporation of the line Forget Everything You Know was a nice touch, signifying to both forget the monstrosity that was Terminator: Salvation, as well as a nod to new fans of the series to come with an open mind.
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin, an unexpected turn of events creates an altered timeline. Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission: reset the future. Terminator: Genysis opens in theaters everywhere July 1st, 2015. They're Back Pitches!...again

Pitch Perfect 3 Is Definitely Happening

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 14, 2015.

Now I've heard a lot of really obvious news today, but this has got to be the winner. It appears that Universal is moving forward with another installment in perhaps the most surprisingly blockbuster franchise in recent history, Pitch Perfect. That's right you aca-folk (no more I promise), Pitch Perfect 3 is happening, and they're bringing along the original writer for the ride.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Kay Cannon, who handled the scripting responsibilities for the first two films, has recently begun negotiations with both Universal and Gold Circle to reprise hs duties on the next chapter in the saga of the Barden Bellas. Again, this isn't really breaking news, as shes publicly said she wants to come back to work on the threequel.

How she'll manage to accomplish this feat is a completely other story. Just a heads-up, there are some spoilers for Pitch Perfect 2 beyond this point

At the end of the sequel, most of the acapella group has moved on, as all the main members of the team graduate. It'll fall to Cannon to figure out a way to reunite the girls, which may be even more trickier off-screen than on.

Part of what made the prior two films so profitable was the incredibly cheap budget on which they were produced. Pitch Perfect cost $17 million to make, and Pitch Perfect 2 reportedly cost $29 million. This includes the decent fees for its two biggest stars, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, who racked up salaries of $2 million each by the second. Currently, there are no negotiations in place for a third, so only time will tell I guess.

Whatever ends up happening, it's clear that this threequel is miles away. No word on whether or not Elizabeth Banks or any of the cast will return, but one thing's for sure; Pitch Perfect 2 continues to excel at the box office, recently topping $250 million worldwide. For more things aca and movies, keep it here at KhanFlix.

Fallen Too Hard, Too Fast

London Has Fallen Release Date Pushed back Yet Again.

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 14, 2015.
If this isn't a sign from the powers above, I really don't know if Hollywood has a soul at this point. The impending sequel to the 2013, White House-centric actioner Olympus Has Fallen has been pushed from its fall release date, to the horrific dumping ground for cinematic garbage, a kind of post-apocalyptic wasteland of movies if you will.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gramercy Pictures, the genre production wing of Focus Features, has moved the sequel London Has Fallen from its original October 2 release date to January 22, 2016.

After the rush of all the end-of-year awards contenders and big blockbusters - Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens this December, just in case you forgot - the first couple moths of the year have been known since the beginning of time where the studios have a clean slate and take out the trash of the past. Think of it like a college hippie moving out and leaving his furniture on the lawn. People might come and inspect the furniture, they'll enjoy sitting on it, but you can be sure as hell that furniture ain't getting any love anytime soon. Anyways, this is usually where you find movies that underperformed, that sort of had potential in the form of a big name star or just story in some capacity, but like most good things in Hollywood, ended up underperforming way too much.

Come to think of it though, that theory's been proven wrong pretty nicely recently, with the likes of American Sniper absolutely dominating the game, both critically and financially. This was clearly a factor for the Power Rangers movie as well, as they took note when planning their January 2017 release date.

Anyways, even if the date hadn't changed, you've gotta remember the fact that, while it made some money, Olympus Has Fallen didn't exactly topple over the world or anything, financially or critically. Reviews were mixed, if we're being polite, and had really poor reception overall. It did however, make $161 million worldwide, $98 domestically, but with a $70 million budget, plus marketing and the tedious reception, pretty much everyone with a brain and a wallet is still asking why, of all things to happen, is this getting a sequel at all?

In London Has Fallen, Gerald Butler reprises his role of former Special Forces operator turned no-longer disgraced Secret Service Agent Mike Banning. Set it, of all places, London. The British Prime Minister dies under suspicious circumstances, and when his funeral turns into a shooting gallery for those trying to assassinate world leaders, only Banning can save the day.

With a cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, Melissa Leo, Angela Basett, Robert Forster, and Jackie Earle Haley, London Has Fallen now oepns on January 22, 2016. For all things movies, keep it here at KhanFlix.

Chatting with Entertainment Weekly, the actor managed to provide a witty, silly response to even the most generic of questions. I mean come on, its Chris Pratt. Any scene of him on Parks and Recreation made you love the guy that much more. Anyways, now that the movie has been released, the actor was finally was able to divulge that he has indeed signed on for more movies. When asked the question, he responded with:

"I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something

If I'm being honest, if there's any actor I'd want to see 38 times playing the same rehashed character, it's definitely character. And judging by Jurassic World's early box office success, it sounds like the fans pretty much agree with me. The film continues to excel at the box office, setting records for both the actor and the industry. And that's just in the first week.

To see how awesome Chris Pratt actually is in this movie, be sure to check out Jurassic World in theaters now. And if you're still confused as to whether or not to watch it, head on over to our reviews page for a spoiler-free review on the blockbuster hit. For all things monstrous and dino, be sure to stick around here at KhanFLix.

Amy Poehler Joins The House

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 14, 2015.

Of all the comedic pairings, its a shock this one hasn't happened already. Will Ferrell's career has been going to..um..interesting places ate. He's had his fair share of hits and duds, but nothing compared to Amy Poehler, who's been on fire with her career lately. Finally, this pairing will treat us all in a new comedy, titled The House.

The script is brought to us by Andrew J. Cohen and Brenden O'Brien. And for those of you who don't know anyone unless they've got a Kardashian as a last name, these two incredible writers would be the ones who brought us last year's surprise hit Neighbours starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron.

The film will tell the story of a couple who loses their daughter's college funds, and opens an illegal casino in their basement to try and make the money back. Ferrell is already on board to play dear old daddy, and now reports are coming in that Poehler is in final talks to lay the other half of this hilarious couple.

With both these actors having incredible successes in their portfolios (Poehler more than Ferrell), it's a no-brainer to think that this won't produce at least a few decent gut busters. I'm really hoping Will Ferrell can make this his comeback movie, because while Get Hard may have been decent, it still wasn't like his legendary status amongst the ranks of Ron Burgundy. Keep it here at KhanFlix for more news on the upcoming world of cinema and comedy...did I mention to keep it locked at KhanFlix

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 14, 2015.

For those of you patiently awaiting for Quentin Tarantino's latest opus The Hateful Eight, you'll need to wait even longer than you previously thought. What's more, if you're not near a 70mm theater, which is the really old one your parents probably grew up with, then you'll have to wait even longer than that.

The film, originally slated for a November 2015 release, has been pushed back to Christmas day, but only for 70mm theaters, while general audiences can indulge into the movie in 2016.

Original information had Tarantino's eighth film pegged for a November 13, 2015 release date, but now it looks like the film will be joining a very crowded and more jolly time of year. We already knew that his post-Civil war epic, The Hateful Eight, was going to be a major release in the classic 70mm format, but now The Hollywood Reporter is reporting (lol) that the film will originally hit 70mm theaters on Christmas day. However, since most theaters don't support this classic format in preference of more digital films, the 70mm format is not very common, so expect to see critics or movie buffs as the only "real" people venturing out the distance. But hope is not lost, as general audiences will be able to view the motion picture only a couple weeks after, on January 8, 2016.

The delay brings about many questions as to why this might be happening. It's really common for a movie to have a limited release the year before in order to go for Oscar consideration. The same thing happened with American Sniper, where it had a general January release, but to go for an Academy Award, it had a limited release in the US and some Canadian theaters on Christmas day, so this trend isn't really that surprising. Plus, since this being filmed on 70mm format, it'll definitely take some time to convert to digital film, which grants the January release some justice. Tarantino isn't exactly the first director to demand shooting on actual film. Believe it or not, Christoper Nolan did the very same thing when shooting Interstellar as well.

The Hateful Eight is the story of a number of strangers including a bounty Hunter, played by Kurt Russell, and his bounty, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh who take shelter together during a Wyoming blizzard. The film also stars Michael Madsen and Samuel L. Jackson (because Samuel L. Jackson.) For more news on all movies digital and retro, keep it locked here at KhanFlix.

Written by Huzaifa Khan on June 14, 2015.

Chris Pratt just keeps on winning. Fresh off the heals of major successes such as The Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Parks and Recreation, the talented star just hit another career milestone for himself

Not only did Jurassic World lead the domestic box office, reportedly with the second best weekend opening of all time, but it also managed to set a "best ever/only" record along the way. In addition to taking in $204.6 million at the domestic box office, Jurassic World also took in another $307.2 million internationally over the weekend.

The worldwide total of an estimated $511.8 million dollars is the highest ever opening weekend total globally. Actually, it's the highest ever global box office opening weekend, period. It marks the very first time that any movie has managed to gross more than half a billion dollars in a single weekend."
